Lola Dutronic
It's been a while (2012's "Everyone's A Star" to be exact) since the world last heard an album from Lola Dutronic, everyone's favourite bilingual transatlantic electronic pop duo - Toronto-based Richard Citroen and vocalist (and Dusseldorf resident) Stephanie B.
The pair have just released a radio remix of their best selling iTunes download (which coincidently featured on the aforementioned "Everyone's A Star") - a boppy and very poppy electro-pop cover of Vicky Leandros' 1967 Eurovision entry "L'amour est bleu", that's full of synth loops, Noughties trickery and Stephanie's sultry multi-tracked and echoed vocals - which once again captures Lola Dutronic's seemingly effortless ability to assuredly straddle pop's past and future.
The song is exclusively available for download via their Bandcamp site, there's promise of a brand new album, "Lost In Translation" which is scheduled for release later this year to whet the appetite.
